Ingredients
Bircher
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 2 apples, grated
- 3 cups 99% apple juice
- ½ cup dried fruit (sultanas, raisins)
- ½ mixed seeds (pepitas, chia)
Toppings
- 2 cups reduced fat natural yoghurt
- 2 cups fruit of choice (banana, strawberries, blueberries)
- 2 cups granola or toasted muesli
Method
- Place all the Bircher ingredients in a container, mix well, cover and place in the fridge overnight
- To serve, place ½ cup of Bircher in a small bowl or serving container, top with ¼cup each of yoghurt and chopped fruit. Sprinkle with a tablespoon of granola.
Top Tips!
This is a great alternative to hot porridge in the warmer months. Top with any seasonal fruit and granola of choice for added crunch. Containers that have a separate compartment are perfect for keeping the granolafrom going soggy. Bircher can be made with half yoghurt, half juice if you prefer a creamier version.
